Girl allegedly jumped to the river from old Sadarghat bridge; NDRF in action

As per available information, a girl jumped down from the old Sadarghat bridge earlier today. Silchar Sadar Police station got a call at around 6:30 PM when they were informed that a girl has jumped in the river.

The officer in charge of Silchar Sadar Police station, Ditumoni Goswami informed that NDRF jawans launched a search operation at around 7:00 pm and after they failed to trace anyone for an hour, they stopped the rescue operation.

“Tomorrow morning they will get into action again and hopefully we will get more details,” added Goswami.

“So far, we have no information about the whereabouts of the person who has allegedly jumped into the river. It is too soon to comment on anything specific,” added Goswami.
