Two Delhi-bound passengers have been apprehended by the efficient and alert CISF personnel at the Kumbhirgram airport Silchar in Assam for allegedly trying to smuggle gold biscuits by concealing them in their rectum.

The incident took place during the routine checkup in the airport yesterday when the personnel of the security force detected metal pieces in the body of two men, identified as Barkat Khan and Rajendra Sirabh, during frisking and they were subsequently taken for detailed checking. They planned to fly to Delhi by Jet airways Delhi bound flight 9WE0922.

During thorough checking by the metal detector it was revealed that the two passengers were carrying 10 gold bars 5 each (1600 gm in total) wrapped and kept in their rectum area. After the confirmation from the metal detector signal, security forces personnel caught them and shake them hard because of that all hidden golden biscuits fell on to the ground. At that time, CISF officials including airport authorities of India officials, local police and jet airlines officials were present at the scene. After the incident customs officials reached the airport and became aware of the incident and arrested 2 traffickers.

It may be mentioned here that this is the second incidence of trying to smuggle gold in a rectum at Kumbhirgram Airport. In previous incident also, the security personnel busted the attempt of trafficking. It has been possible to disrupt the plan once again because of their skill.
