"Government gave me a responsibility and I will give my 100%" Babul Bezbaruah joins SMCH as Principal

On October 26, 2018, the Assam government announced the appointment of Dr. Babul Bezbaruah as the principal and chief-superintendent of Silchar Medical College and Hospital. At that time, Babul Bezbaruah was associated with Assam Medical College and Hospital Dibrugarh as professor of Pharmacology department. He was also entrusted with an administrative role in Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.

Today, after Bezbaruah occupied his office, he told the media, “The state government has trusted me with a responsibility and I would give my 100 percent to live up to expectation.”

The newly appointed principal further added, “I am not new to this institution or hospital. I have experience of working here for a period of six years, from 2005 to 2011. So I also have an emotional connection with the place.”

Bezbaruah replaces Silpi Rani Barman as the principal and chief-superintendent. On the same day, the government had also announced the appointment of Dr Abhijit Swami as the superintendent of SMCH.
