Gracewell Hospital starts COVID treatment; Single sharing Rs 6,000, General Ward Rs 2000
Another private nursing home opens a COVID section for the general public. Gracewell Hospital, located in Meherpur Silchar has started accepting admission of patients infected with Coronavirus.
The COVID ward was ceremoniously announced open by the deputy speaker of Assam Aminul Haque Laskar. Patron of the Hospital, Mulchand Baid, Dr. Sn Deb, Dr. Rayhan Mazumdar, Dr. Soumitra Deb, Dr. Iqbal Bahar, Dr. JR Choudhury, Dr. Masroor Ahmed were also present at the opening ceremony.
The deputy speaker and Sonai MLA, Aminul Haque lauded Gracewell Hospital’s initiative to launch a COVID ward. He said it is a step in the right direction and will benefit the people of the region. “The aim of any hospital should not be to drive profit. Hospitals must take responsibility to serve the region. In this pandemic situation, it is essential to have a collaborative fight against the invisible enemy,” said Laskar.
Dr. Saugat Narayan Deb added that Gracewell will provide medical services at a lower cost compared to other private hospitals in the Valley.
Green Heals Hospital and Valley Hospital have already started treating COVID patients and Gracewell becomes the third one.
In the COVID ward, Gracewell Hospital will provide five beds in the ICU, three AC twin sharing cabins, one AC single sharing cabin, seven non AC single sharing cabins, and five beds in the General ward.
Bed rent in General Ward is Rs 2,000, AC single sharing- Rs 6000, AC double sharing Rs 5000, Non AC single sharing Rs 4000, and ICU Rs 6000- per day.
Apart from the seat rent, there are consultation fees, charges for food and beverage, PPE kit Charges, nursing charges, oxygen charges, medicines, pathology and other tests.
The hospital management has informed that doctors and healthcare workers will be available round the clock in ICU and other COVID wards.
