Green Corridor tomorrow in Silchar as a patient admitted in SMCH will airlift for Bhubaneswar
A patient named Pramoth Kumar Misra son of Justice Jay Krushna Misra, who is currently under treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Silchar (Central ICU Bed No. 2) for post COVID complication is granted “No objection Certificate” and is allowed by District Administration to shift him to Bhubaneswar, Odisha by Air Ambulance as desired by his daughter vide her email dated 30/05/2021.
In an order issued by the deputy commissioner of Cachar, it is mentioned that “The expenses are being borne by the patient’s family who is also making the choice of shifting the patient despite medical advice from SMCH, taking the onus of entire responsibility knowing the condition of the patient may deteriorate after removing from ICU services of SMCH against medical advice.”
Accordingly, the Air Ambulance has been granted required permission by the “District Administration” to land and fly back to and from Silchar Airport, Kumbhirgram to shift the patient from Silchar to Bhubaneswar. Air Ambulance has also agreed to transfer the patient.
The deputy commissioner has marked a copy to the Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Silchar for helping with the “Green corridor” for shifting the patient to the Airport at the earliest.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that the patient is in NIV and has already tested negative on RT-PCR for COVID. “The patient is in central ICU with post COVID complications and under the treatment of doctors,” said the vice-principal.
As per available information, the patient was supposed to be shifted today but due to the bad weather, the Air Ambulance decided against it. Tomorrow too there will be an attempt but it will be heavily dependent on the weather. The family members said that they will try to airlift the patient at 3:00 pm.
