Hailakandi Police arrests Gautam Roy's ex PS and contractor Gautam Gupta in charges of corruption

In a major breakthrough, a team led by Circle Officer Tanbir Ahmed and Officer Incharge of Ramnathpur Police station Mukut Hazarika managed to arrest Gautam Gupta also known as Nabojit Gupta from Hailakandi town. The police force arrested Gupta in charges of corruption in construction of a road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojona (PMGSY) scheme in South Hailakandi’s Jhalnacherra area.

Sources in Hailakandi Police informed us that Gupta is now in Hailakandi Police station and the officials are interrogating him.

Police have arrested Gautam Gupta on the basis of Democratic students and Youth association’s district secretary Dilwar Hussain filed petition CR CASE No 92/2017 and Ramnathpur PS filed CASE NO 46/2017. Gupta is a certified Class A Contractor and have done a series of big-budget Government work in Hailakandi district, he was once upon a time very close associate of former Minister and senior Indian National Congress leader Gautam Roy. In fact for some time Gupta was Roy’s Personal Secretary. Source close to Gautam Roy informed us that the Minister has no connection with Gupta nowadays.
