Hailakandi Police holds cleanliness awareness drive; sheds light on plastic-harm
Under the month long nationwide Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign, Hailakandi Police on Monday, along with Hailakandi Town Committee and local organizations, organized a cleanliness cum awareness drive to sensitize and aware the masses about the need of Cleanliness.
Hailakandi SP PK Nath led the rally and was joined by Hailakandi Municipal Board executive officer Prodip Timung. The police personnel cleaned the every nook and corner of the road during the hour long cleanliness drive.
Apart from these, personnel also made citizens aware about the harm of plastic to the society and urged to shun the usage of single use plastic.
In a similar event on Sunday, Hailakandi police organized street corner meetings with the public in all police station areas and motivated the people for keeping the surrounding clean. They urged the gathering not to use single use plastic as it has been banned in the district, with a warning that strict action would be taken against one violating the order as per provisions of law.
