Hanging dead body of the Branch Manager found inside SBI, Kabuganj Branch

Inside the bank’s record room, the branch manager’s body was hanged with a rope tied around his neck. Colleagues witnessed such a scene this morning at Kabuganj branch of State Bank.

30-year-old Kuldeep Dasgupta of Kabuganj was working in this branch as a Branch Manager for quite some time. A Risk Focused Internal Audit was going on in the branch for a few days. Therefore, the work of the bank ended quite late on Friday. As there was a lot of work related to the audit, Kuldeep asked his colleagues to go home and instead of going to his Silchar Ambicapatty’s house, he stayed inside the branch building for the night.

This morning, cleaners, guards and other staff arrived at the branch and found his hanging body. A rope was attached to his neck that hanged from the ceiling and strangely his legs were also tried to the rope.

After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation. Meanwhile, the body has been sent to Silchar Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

Whether it was a suicide or a murder is still unclear, but a mystery has been created. Apart from the leg-binding incident, the bank’s CCTV footage also deepened the mystery. On investigation, the police found that CCTV footage was missing for quite some time.

Meanwhile, local people have demanded a proper investigation into this unusual death because they wondered how can a man hang himself with his legs tied to the rope.

Details about the cause of death may be known after the autopsy report comes out.
