HSLCE: Silchar Holy Cross School's Biswadip Nath only student from Barak Valley in merit list
Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) has declared the results for the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) earlier today.
With a total of 597, Lakhipur District’s Raktotpal Saikia of St. Mary’s High School has secured the first position in the merit list. Second by just a mark, Bhuyashi Medhi of Little Flowers School, Nalbari stood second in the merit list.
What comes as a matter of pride for Silchar, Holy Cross School’s Biswadip Nath, son of Dr. Bidyut Nath and Pratati Sikha Nath emerged to be the only student from Barak Valley to feature in the merit list. With 588 out of 600. Biswadip secured the 10th spot.
Speaking with Barak Bulletin, Biswadip Nath said, “When I got to know about the merit list, I didn’t believe in what I heard. But eventually, when I was sure that I secured a berth in the merit list, it was very satisfying, as I have really worked hard in my preparation for the HSLC examination.”
He added, “I didn’t have any fixed timings. Some days I used to study eight hours a day otherwise, it was between five to six hours a day. Going forward, Science is my area of interest and I would like to pursue research as a profession.”
