"I am being framed, my misled-wife said things which were fed to her," ADC Anis Rasul Mazumder

One of the additional deputy commissioners in Cachar district administration Anis Rasul Mazumder has been making headlines. His wife, Mariam Tahira Laskar submitted a written complaint to the deputy commissioner of Cachar, alleging that her husband Anis Rasul Mazumder is having an affair with an assistant commissioner, Maria Tanim. Not only that, but Mariam Tahira Laskar also went on to write in her complaint that she is being mentally torture to the extent that suicidal thoughts strike her mind.

Barak Bulletin spoke with her and published a report based on what she said. While AR Mazumder was not reachable, Maria Tanim said she is not aware of any such complaint and would not like to comment on the story.

However, after the report was published, ADC Anis Rasul Mazumder decided to call for a press conference. Yesterday, while talking to the journalists in Silchar, Mazumder said, “I am being framed, my misled-wife said things which were fed to her.”

Mazumder alleged that there is a third-party who are misleading his wife for their vested interest. He also clarified he has no extramarital affair with any of his subordinates or the said assistant commissioner. Countering his wife’s allegation that when she confronted about his extramarital relationship, he said, “Adultery is not a crime according to the supreme court.”

Despite asking numerous times, who are the “third-party” trying to mislead his wife and why are they doing so, Mazumder repeatedly gave the same answer, “I do not have any proof and I do not want to call names without proof.”

He also said that everything became, “normal” between him and his wife and they discussed the complaint and addressed the issues. “She complaint on 9th and my daughter’s birthday was on 10th we celebrated it all together,” he mentioned.

It is worth putting here that, ADC’s wife Mariam Tahira Laskar alleged that she is being mentally tortured by her inlaws with demands of withdrawing the complaint. Mazumder denied the allegations and said that his brother, who is being alleged by his own wife lives happily with his own family and not involved in this at all. ADC reiterated that everything is fine between him and his wife…

When the reporters at the press conference asked why did the couple not address the press together to rubish all rumours, the ADC did not have much to say. Barak Bulletin’s correspondent called Mariam Tahira Laskar multiple times but her phone was not reachable or remained unanswered.
