IAF aircraft took off with 4 units of NDRF comprising 105 rescuers from Bhubaneshwar for Silchar

Indian Air Force’s aircraft has departed from Bhubaneshwar with four units comprising of 105 NDRF Rescue personnel. The aircraft will land in Silchar with the force.

These personnel are trained to rescue people stuck in disasters like flood and cyclone. The unit is traveling with Life Jackets and other rescue related modern equipment.

Chief Minister of Assma Himanta Biswa Sarma had ensured that the state will requisition forces from other states in order to combat what is by far the worst flood Silchar has ever faced in its history.

“4 units of @NDRFHQ, total 105 personnel/rescuers, with modern life saving equipment, are reaching Silchar at 11:30AM today from Bhubaneshwar to carry out rescue operations in Barak valley. Grateful to Honble HM Amit Shah for such prompt action and help,” informed Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
