IMD issues weather warning for Barak Valley districts

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Barak Valley districts of Assam, today and tomorrow. The alert states that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts.

“Cachar district is expected to experience thunderstorms today with lightning and gusty winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph, while Hailakandi district is likely to have thunderstorms today with lightning at isolated places. Meanwhile, Karimganj district may experience thunderstorms today with lightning and gusty winds with a wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph,” the report read.

Tomorrow, a yellow warning has been issued for Cachar district, with thunderstorms and lightning likely to occur at isolated places. Hailakandi and Karimganj districts are also expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places.
