India Club canters into the final of Super Division, knocks United Club out in Semi
India Club managed to reach the final of Silchar Super Division Cricket. India Club defeated United Club by 55 runs in the first semi-final of Super Division cricket at Satindra Mohan Dev Stadium on Monday.
With the performance of both the teams at the league level, India Club was the clear favorite in this match. The century-old club entered the final with all-round cricket. India Club won the toss in the morning and decided to bat first. Several of the team’s batsmen failed to score big runs but contributed significantly.
India Club was all out for 167 runs in 38.5 overs. Prasenjit Sarkar (29), Amit Yadav (28), Yogeshwar Bhumij (26), Raju Das (24) and Manasjyoti Gogoi (22) contributed significantly to the team. Sanjeev Dutta (3-29) and Sudarshan Sinha (2-22) bowled well.
In response, United were all out for 112 runs in 32.1 overs. At the league level, the streak of failure of the team’s batsmen continued in the knockout match as well which ensured their farewell. Gaurav and Roshan Topno scored the highest (29) runs for their team. Sanjiv Dutta scored 12 runs and Abhik Lala scored 13 runs. Amit Yadav took three wickets. Abhay Kumar Yadav and Yogeshwar Bhumij took two wickets each. Yogeshwar Bhumij was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
