Indian Air Force strikes terror sites in Pakistan

Indian Air Force conducted a successful air-strike in Jaish-E-Mohammed launch pads in Pakistan. At around 3.30 AM today morning, 12 fourth generation fighter jets Mirage 2000 dropped close to 1000 kilograms of laser-guided bombs in major terror sites across the Line Of Control.

Indian Air Force or Government of India is yet to release an official statement confirming the attack. The damage assessment is yet to be done, however, news agency – ANI quoted Indian Air Force sources and reported that the bombs were dropped in terrorist camps located in Balakot area in Muzaffarabad district in Pakistan.

The attack comes after more than 40 CRPF jawans were killed in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.

While the Government of India has not confirmed the attack officially, Pakistan government has called for an emergency meeting in Islamabad. Pakistan Army Spokesperson Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor confirmed Indian Air Force’s attack on Pakistan. His tweet read, “Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzafarabad sector. Facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot. No casualties or damage.”

He further downplayed the Indian attack by posting some images on the microblogging social media platform. Along with the images he wrote in his tweet, “With Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles.Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow. (sic)”

Meanwhile, India Today has released a video of Mirage 2000 dropping bombs. The TV channel claims that the footages are of today morning which it has got exclusive access to.
