The Assam branch of Indian Medical Association on Tuesday, wrote to the Chief Minister of Assam demanding proper punitive against the “culprit” Kishor Nath, who was in a viral video seen to allegedly harass a doctor at Borkhola PHC.
“At this crucial moment, when the whole country is in fight against the dreaded Novel Corona Virus, and all the Doctors and other health workers are actively involved in this war against the humanity, it is really painful to witness such obnoxious behaviour on the part of a supposedly representative of the people” the letter signed by Secretary and President of IMA mentioned.
He added, “we would request you to please take proper punitive action against culprit Sri Kishor Nath by booking him and his associates under the stringent IPCs and the Assam Medicare service persons and Medicare Service Institutions (prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act 2011”.
Copy of the letter has also been forwarded to Chief Secretary of Assam and Director General of Assam Police.
It can be mentioned here that, an FIR was filled by a doctor of Borkhola PHC Dr. Sujit Sinha, alleging assault by Borkhola MLA Kishor Nath and his security guards. However Nath claimed the incident as political conspiracy against him.
