Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha Leads Karimganj Protest Against attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh

A massive torch rally was held in Karimganj town this evening under the leadership of MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, protesting against the recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. The rally, saw participation from thousands of people expressing their outrage.

Protestors marched through the streets, condemning the violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. They made it clear that such attacks are unacceptable and called for the protection of Hindus in Bangladesh, warning that a larger movement would follow if the situation does not improve.

Addressing the media, MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha stated that a movement in Bangladesh against the quota system had escalated into an anti-Hindu campaign. He highlighted that Hindu temples were desecrated, women were tortured, and people were attacked and killed during this period.

Purkayastha expressed his concern that almost every movement in Bangladesh ends with attacks on Hindus. He stated that this is not acceptable and urged the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to address the situation.

He further expressed his sympathy for the Hindus in Bangladesh and hoped for a swift and effective resolution to their plight. Purkayastha condemned the anarchic situation created in Bangladesh, stating that it has brought shame to the country on a global scale.

The protestors in Karimganj demanded immediate action to ensure the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. They expressed solidarity with the victims and vowed to continue their protests until justice is served.

Recently, following the student protest, there have been numerous reports of violence against minorities in Bangladesh, particularly the Hindu community. These incidents have sparked widespread outrage and calls for international attention to the deteriorating situation in the neighbouring country.
