Karimganj epicenter of a low intensity earthquake; tremors felt in parts of Northeast

An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale shook parts of Assam, Mizoram and Tripura along with the neighbouring country Bangladesh on the evening of Tuesday.

No report of damages or causalities have been received till filing of this news.

The tremor was recorded at 5:28 pm on Tuesday, at a shallow depth of 20 km on latitude 24.39 and longitude 92.53 with epicenter at Karimganj of Assam.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 03-11-2020, 17:28:17 IST, Lat: 24.39 & Long: 92.53, Depth: 20 Km ,Location: 38km E of Dharmanagar, Tripura, India” National Centre of Seismology said in a release.
