
Karimganj Police confiscates 1108kg suspected Ganja from a secret chamber of a truck; Driver from Bihar apprehended
Huge quantities of suspected cannabis were recovered last night from Churaibari Check Post on National Highway No. 8 in Karimganj. It was recovered from a 10-wheeler container truck last night by the team of police from Churaibari Police Station. The driver of the vehicle was also apprehended.
According to the information received from police sources, at around 8:25 PM, when the vehicle arrived at the check post, it was thoroughly checked. During the search, a total of 1108 kilos of ganja was recovered from the truck. The brown sealed packets were almost 100 in number and were kept in a secret chamber of the container bus.
The driver of the truck, which was coming from Tripura was also apprehended by the police. The driver, Manish Kumar is a resident of Tara Dhamaun village in Samastipur Bihar. The registration number of the 10-wheeler truck is RJ10GB6422.
Churaibari thana in-charge, SI Niranjan Das said, “The truck along with the ganja were seized in the presence of an independent witness. The truck driver of the said vehicle is also apprehended. Legal actions will be initiated soon”.
