Karimganj's Saurav Dey selected for National Cricket Academy's BCCI under-19 camp

What comes in as an immense matter of pride, Karimganj’s Saurav Dey has found a slot in the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Under 19 camp to be held in Pondicherry. Rajesh Prasad is the only other player from Assam to have found a slot in the camp.

In a letter written to the Cricket Association of Assam, it has been officially informed that, The U-19 (Boys) camp will be conducted from 24th April 2023 to 18th May 2023 under the aegis of NCA, BCCI.

“The All India Junior Selection Committee has selected the players in the list attached from your Association to attend the above camp as per the details mentioned. You are requested to inform the selected players to report at their respective venues (as per the details in the player list) on 23rd April 2023 (AN),” states the letter.

It adds, “You are also requested to advise your state physio and doctor to certify that the players selected for the camp is fit to join the camp as per the respective fitness certificate formats attached. If a player is unfit, this should be informed to the NCA immediately through your Association.

Saurav Dey has been in tremendous form this session. He has outperformed in the inter-district tournament and the all-rounder has had a great time in the Assam Premier Club Cup competition too. He is currently prepping for the final round of the tournament that is being held in Silchar. Dey plays for NSSA team from Karimganj and they have qualified after winning the district round and coming second on the Zonal championship.
