Labourer's body found with neck cut off on side of Kathal Road bypass in Silchar

The body of a young man, identified as Mithu Das, was discovered on the side of Kathal Road bypass in Silchar. Mithu was a laborer by profession, and his body was found with injuries to various parts of it, including having his neck cut with a sharp weapon. The body was recovered by the police and sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.

As per reports, pedestrians found the body in a roadside field in the afternoon, and the police quickly arrived at the spot. The victim’s family recognised the body and told that Mithu was missing since the night of Holi. They allege that someone murdered Mithu and left his body by the roadside. Police are currently investigating the incident, and the recovery of the dead body has caused sensation in Silchar town.

Speaking to reporters a relative of Mithu Das said, “Mithu played Holi day before yesterday and went out of his house at around 7 pm in the night. We talked over the phone till 11 pm and after that his mobile got switched off. Today a person informed us about the dead body and we identified him. His neck was cut off and a hammer was found near the body which the Police took with them for investigation.”
