Love birds attacked with sword in Silchar; one rushed to SMCH, Police launches investigation 

In Udharbond’s Moynarbond area, a couple reportedly was sitting and chitchatting by the Mahasadak. As they were enjoying the cool breeze and silence, two men approached them and their sweet moment turned into a tragic one.

Dipankar Das (25), a resident of Silchar National Highway was sitting by the road and chitchatting with his 22-year-old friend. At around 8:00 pm, Das parked his motorcycle by the Mahasadak and both of them sat by the road. Suddenly they saw two men approaching them. Dipankar Das was stabbed multiple times by the two men and they allegedly ran away with his motorcycle.

The girl then rescued the boy and took him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The family members of the boy refused to provide a media statement. In fact, some of them threatened to break the journalists’ mobile phone when they tried to record footage for news.

On the other hand, the Police informed that they haven’t received any complaint about the incident. However, since the issue has already come into public discourse, the Police said they will look into the matter.

Why did the two men target only Das and attacked him is something that remains a mystery.
