Kaivom, a joint operation was conducted by Katigorah Police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel from Silchar Headquarters and the 170 No., battalion of BSF from Harinagar Border Out Post (BOP). The raid took place in Katigorah’s Part III area of Cachar district, where authorities seized over two kilograms of narcotic tablets and a motorcycle used for smuggling.

The operation targeted the residence of Mustak Ahmed Barbhuiya, son of Nazrul Islam Barbhuiya, following confidential information provided by the BSF. As the police approached for the raid, Mustak and two other accomplices attempted to escape. While Mustak Ahmed was apprehended after a struggle, the other two managed to flee the scene.
