Major fire at New Market - Fatak Bazaar; at least 7 shops burnt to ashes

A major fire broke down late at night in Fatak Bazar’s New Market area. As per latest reports at least seven shops in the area have burned down to ashes. At around 10:30 PM the fire was noticed and according to eyewitnesses the fire was first spotted next to Das Ice Factory. In the New Market area a lot of shops are made of wood and that is suspected as one of the reasons why the fire spread so fast.

The localites immediately made efforts to control the fire and fire station deployed four Fire brigade engines, because of the joint efforts of both localites and firemen the fire is under control now. Local residents shared their disappointment at the Fire station and accused them of delay. They feel the fire could have been controlled long back had the engines reached a little earlier.

There is no clarity yet on the source of the fire yet, the fire station informed us that the firemen are yet to return to the station and they do not have any details yet. There is no report of any loss of life either.
