Major fire in Silchar's Nazirpatty burns three stores to ashes; 5 engines rushed to bring flames under control
A major fire broke out on Tuesday night at around 10:30 pm at Nazirpatty, which is a business hub located in Silchar. According to locals, they saw smoke coming out of a store that had its shutter down. The store owner was immediately informed, but by the time he reached, the smoke had turned into a huge blaze.
The fire quickly spread to neighboring stores and as many as three stores were burnt to ashes. The stores that were damaged in the fire include an apparel store owned by Aniruddha Das, Tanushree Footwear owned by Pankaj Paul, and a tailor’s store known as Ananya Tailor.
The Fire and Emergency Services were informed about the incident and firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the flames. However, due to the narrow roads in the area, it was difficult for the fire engines to reach the spot. The firefighters had to adopt alternative techniques to bring the fire under control.
Locals also came forward to assist the firefighters in extinguishing the fire. After a hard-fought battle of three hours, the flames were finally put out. The firefighters managed to contain the fire before it could cause further damage to the area.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the incident. The affected store owners are currently assessing the damage caused by the fire.
This incident highlights the importance of having proper fire safety measures in place in commercial areas. The authorities must ensure that fire safety regulations are strictly followed to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
