Man Killed Over Two Wives' Dispute: Wife Hammers Husband To Death In Sribhumi

In a spine-chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Sribhumi’s Sadarashi Gram Panchayat, a woman allegedly murdered her husband by hitting him on the head with a five-kilogram hammer while he was asleep.

The incident took place on Tuesday (April 15) night in Ward No. 10 of Saidpur village. The accused, identified as 32-year-old Saniya Begum, reportedly attacked her 60-year-old husband, Taj Uddin, following a domestic dispute. Locals claim that the couple had frequent quarrels due to Taj Uddin having another wife. The tension between the co-wives is believed to have triggered the violent outburst.

According to eyewitnesses, after committing the murder, Saniya attempted to flee the village. However, alert locals managed to catch her and handed her over to the police. Officers from Girishganj Police Outpost, Sribhumi Sadar Police Station, and the Sadar Circle Officer rushed to the spot soon after receiving the news.

Taj Uddin’s body was recovered and sent to Sribhumi Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. The area remains in a state of shock over the brutality of the incident.

“A murder over the issue of two wives… We have never witnessed such a horrific event in our village,” said a local resident. “The woman has been arrested and is currently in police custody.”

Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain all aspects of the crime.
