Man shoves rod through rectum of a boy after scuffle breaks over the financial transaction in Cachar; FIR lodged

A case of money transactions related violence escalated to an extent that the lender of the money was attacked by the borrower in the Shingirbond area under Baskandi Police Station of Cachar. The lender, Dilawar Hussain Barbhuiya, a 22-year-old shopkeeper was attacked by a borrower, Shah Alam and his family at their residence and even an iron rod was shoved inside his rectum. Like a barbarian Shah Alam started beating Dilawar and his animalistic behaviour went to such an extent that not a single body organ of Dilwar was left unharmed. When Dilawar cried for help, Shah Alam’s family members gathered in and started beating him even more.

In the month of Ramzan, a small shop owner, Dilawar had asked Shah Alam to return his money for the goods he purchased on credit from Dilawar. Shah Alam took it otherwise and wanted to teach Dilawar a lesson. According to the victim Dilawar, “I had asked Shah Alam to return my money which was due for the last seventeen months. They take groceries from my store on credit every time and don’t return the money on time. After I asked them for their money, they called me home on Saturday night and said they’ll return the money. Accordingly, I went and soon they took away my mobile phone and switched off the light in that room. By the time I could do anything, they started hitting me with different objects. They also tied me with nylon rope so that I can’t attack or do anything in self-defence. Before I lost my sense I could feel them hitting me with rods and iron pipes.”

Dilawar Hussain’s father Ayub Ali Barbhuiya has commented that “We had money transaction terms with their family and when my father asked them when they would return his credit money, they promised by that evening and asked him to go to their home. When he went to their home, within half an hour we could hear some hullabaloo from their home and I received a call that Dilawar was being beaten. Then I called out to my neighbours for help and we all ran to see what was happening. I was shattered to see the condition of my son at their home. His both hands and legs were ties and even in that helpless condition, he was being beaten. Just in front of me, Shah Alom kicked him in the face and his father-in-law Fakir and Rekib Hussain also slapped him more than once. After the villagers gathered around, they convinced them to stop beating him. By then, Ali Uddin, the father of Shah Alam came home and asked us to sign a paper before taking my son home.”

After they came home with their son, they couldn’t resist seeing his wounds. They went to the Baskandi police station for help. “After we came home we saw his wounds and it was so bad. These animals have shoved an iron rod inside his rectum. This was unacceptable and that’s when we decided to rush to the local thana to file a case. The Police referred us to the Alipur Hospital for treatment and advised us treatment first and case later. In that hospital, due to a lack of treatment facilities, they referred us to the SMCH and later admitted him to the Medical. After treatment now, his condition is a bit stable, but still, he can not even walk properly.” Ayub Ali further added.

On April 5, the family filed a case against Shah Alam and his family after they didn’t give a reaction. Ali Uddin said, “After all this, I expected Ali Uddin or his son Shah Alam would come to me and ask for compromise or say sorry, but they didn’t. I couldn’t take it anymore. I can’t forget the visuals of them beating my helpless soon so with my villagers, I went to the thana and filed a case against the family”.

What’s very confusing here is that it was Dilawar Hussain whose money they were supposed to return and they have even asked him to come home and take his money. But why was Dilawar beaten by Shah Alam? If sources are to be believed here, it’s not just about money, there is a deep-rooted reason for revenge between the two men, Dilawar, who was beaten and Shah Alam, the money borrower.

Police sources didn’t reveal any information other than the the issue with borrowing money. Baskandi Police OC Nafisur Rahman said, “We have registered a case. The matter is under investigation so can not comment now on anything. As soon as the investigation is done, we will brief.”
