Mass cheating attempt unfolds on first day of HSLC Examination in a school at Ganirgram, one individual detained
On the first day of High School Leaving Certificate Examination, an unexpected turn of events occurred at the Ganirgram Examination Center in Cachar district. As candidates were being searched by the police at the gate of the examination centre to prevent them from bringing cheats, individuals climbed over the centre’s walls to supply cheats to the candidates. The police were alerted and rushed to the scene to bring the situation under control.
Speaking to our correspondent DDC Rajiv Roy said, “Some individuals came for supplying cheats to the students but the Police drove them away. The Inspector of Schools and Magistrate went to the exam centre to know details of the incident. One individual has been detained in connection with the incident.”
The individual in question has been identified as Asab Uddin and he is a resident of Mahadebpur in Katigorah. He was allegedly supplying cheats to students at Gonirgram School by climbing the wall. Currently he is being kept in Katigorah Police Outpost. The incident of supplying cheats at Gonirgram School has caused sensation in the entire state after it became viral through media. The Police have launched an operation against the suspected cheat suppliers.
It maybe mentioned that the HSLC examinations have begun from today and will continue till March 20. The practical exams were conducted on February 24 and 25. Today, the candidates took their exams in the English subject. A total of 4,23,000 candidates are appearing for the exams in 912 centres across the state. To maintain discipline and to avoid any untoward incident, the administration has issued section 144 in all examination centres of the state.
