Media veteran Nilotpal Choudhury is no more
Nilotpal Choudhury, a father figure in journalism who is often credited for redefining the media ecosystem in the Northeastern region is no more. Well revered as Neelu da, Choudhury breathed his last at a private nursing home in Silchar.
His son, Nilaksha Choudhury confirmed that at around 1:05 Nilotpal Choudhury left us forever. He said that last Monday (June 29) Nilotpal Choudhury was rushed to the hospital and since then his condition continued to deteriorate.
“Last May (2019) he was diagnosed with cancer, apart from that, he was suffering from issues related to kidney, blood pressure and liver,” informed Nilaksha Choudhury.
Despite all the medical complications, Nilotpal Choudhury lived a sporting life. Earlier this year, he attended the Barak Upattoka Kreeda Sangbadik Sangstha (BUKSS) organised Jookto Media Cricket at Satindra Mohan Dev Memorial Stadium in Silchar and interacted with the participants.
He lived by his wife Kalyani Choudhury, his son Nilaksha Choudhury and many other friends and family.
