Member of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights visits Cachar; will meet 5-month-old's family in Kajidahar, DIG, SP
Member of Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, (ASCPCR) Ajay Kumar Dutta will be in Silchar on August 13, 2020. As per the order issued by Cachar Administration, the member of the commission will visit Kajidahar in Sonai.
It is worth mentioning here that earlier this month a 5-day-old baby boy was kidnapped and later killed by miscreants. SP Cachar said that they have managed to arrest the perpetrator of the crime and two others who partnered him. Sources in the administration informed that Ajay Kumar Dutta will visit the deceased’s village and meet their family members.
Dutta is also scheduled to meet DIG Southern Range Dilip Dey, Superintendent of Police, Bhanwar Lal Meena, and Additional SP during his visit to Silchar.
The additional deputy commissioner has written a letter to the Cachar SP requesting him “to depute one Deputy Superintendent of Police to accompany the Member of ASCPCR during his visit to Cachar district on August 13, 2020. Further, you are requested to provide necessary escort to the Member of ASCPCR on this day,”
The ADC has also informed that District Child Protection Officer, Cachar, Mrinal Kanti Saikia has been deputed as the protocol officer to the member of ASCPCR.
“We have been hearing about the involvement of others in the abduction and murder case registered under Sonai Police station. I will meet the family of the deceased. A gruesome act like this must be condemned and the perpetrators must be punished as per law. If there is an involvement of any racket, it is important to unearth them and put them behind bars. My visit to Silchar is related to this case,” said Ajay Kumar Dutta while talking to Barak Bulletin.
