"Minority organisations are trying to make Karimganj a mini Pakistan" Dilip Paul
Silchar MLA and former deputy speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Dilip Kumar Paul is known for not mincing his words. He questioned the intentions of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and All Assam Minority Students Association (AAMSU).
Paul said that their demand to remove the reservation from Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency exposes their intentions. “These minority organisations are trying to make Karimganj, a mini Pakistan,” he added.
He is of the opinion that the demography is fast changing in Karimganj and other bordering districts and the minority population in on the rise. “The minority organisations are already accepting that the demography has changed, this is what they have been trying to do since a long time,” he asserted.
Referring to the situation in Kashmir, the BJP lawmaker reminded the organisations like AIUDF and AAMSU that things have changed in India and it is the strong BJP at the Centre. “They want to settle all Bangladeshi and Pakistani Muslims who illegally entered the country. We won’t let them do that, we won’t let them make Karimganj a mini Pakistan so easily. They can see what we have done in Kashmir and learn from that,” Paul added.
