Miscreants snatch more than 2 lakh from a resident in Hailakandi

Very much like a repeat of the many other such incidents, today, Aminul Ali lost Rs 2,20,000 he had withdrawn from State Bank Of India Hailakandi branch.

Today afternoon, resident of Lala area in Hailakandi, Aminul Ali visited State Bank Of India, Hailakandi branch to withdraw money from his account. After making a withdrawal of Rs 2,20,000, Ali sat on a rickshaw and was heading back towards his home. Just when he reached N S Road, at the heart of the town a motorbike with two riders stopped next to auto. One of the two seated on the motorcycle snatched his bag and the two ran away.

Ali started screaming on the top of his voice which caught the attention of the people passing by. Many gathered and started looking for the culprit but could not trace anybody.

A helpless Ali then went to Hailakandi Police station and lodged a complaint. Police officials immediately rushed to the spot and started checking footage captured in several CCTV cameras installed in nearby establishments. However, the police are yet to make a breakthrough.
