
Mizo Clash : 65 injured in Cachar, 47 referred to SMCH, five jawan dead
In what emerged as one of the bloodiest clash between two states, 65 got injured and were rushed to Dholai BPHC due to Assam Mizoram border skirmish. After premilininary checkup, the doctors referred 47 to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for better treatment. OC Dholai Sahabuddin was also rushed to the hospital and has been referred to SMCH but the doctors said his condition is stable.
Meanwhile, Samsur Zaman Barbhuiya, a jawan of 21 IR Battalion (Assam) has been declared dead at Silchar Medical College and Hospital along with four others.
The principal of SMCH Dr. Babul Bezbaruah said that a special arrangement has been done to cater to the victims of Mizo onslaught within the territory of Assam. He also added that a team of doctors is ready and attending to the patients who are being rushed from Lailapur.
One after another ambulance is wailing siren and rushing towards Lailapur. The number of wounded can rise further. The shelling has stopped for the time being and there are several expected to be dead on the other side too. DC Cachar, SP Hailakandi Ramandeep Kaur who is in charge of Cachar at present (after Cachar SP Vaibhav Chanrakant Nimbakar incurred bullet injuries) are still on the spot with a huge battalion of state and central forces.
