"Modi Ka Guarantee, Mama ka Warranty," Himanta Biswa Sarma; BJP will respect "Bhadralok" Rajdeep Roy, he assures
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack on the opposition’s campaign in Barak Valley. Taking aim at both the Trinamool Congress and Indian National Congress, Sarma declared that the Congress party is in intensive care and unlikely to win any election for the next 50 years. Among his promises made at the DNHS School Ground in Udharbond were the Orunodoi scholarship for female students, completion of the East-West Corridor by 2026, and assured citizenship for all Bengali Hindus. He dubbed these pledges as “Modi Ka Guarantee, Mama ka Warranty.”
During the second phase of campaigning in Assam, CM Sarma engaged in various public meetings in Barak Valley. Addressing the gathered crowd at the DNHS Ground in Udharbond while advocating for BJP candidate Parimal Suklabaidya, Sarma reiterated promises of job creation for youths, higher education opportunities for girls, citizenship for Bengali Hindus, and bridging the divide between the two valleys. He assured that all 26 lakh families of Assam would receive monthly monetary benefits under the Orunodoi scheme.
Taking a dig at the West Bengal Government led by Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, Sarma highlighted discrepancies in social welfare schemes. He contrasted Assam’s provision of 1250 rupees under the Orunodoi scheme with West Bengal’s inability to match it, and pointed out disparities in Dearness Allowance for state government employees.
In praise of incumbent MP Silchar, Rajdeep Roy, CM Sarma lauded him as a “bhadralok” (gentleman) devoid of corruption allegations. Despite Roy’s inability to continue as MP due to delimitation, Sarma assured him of the respect he deserves from BJP.
Regarding current candidate Parimal Suklabaidya, Sarma commended his competence and effectiveness displayed during his tenure as Excise and Transport Minister of Assam.
Emphasizing the citizenship issue, CM Sarma reassured Hindu Bengalis, pledging resolution within six months through the tribunal process. He also outlined plans for industrial development, citing examples such as the conversion of Jagiroad paper mill into a semiconductor hub and the establishment of a new Medical College in Hailakandi.
CM Sarma’s address in Udharbond encompassed a blend of schemes, assurances, and promises, delivered in Bengali, Hindi, and Assamese to resonate with diverse audiences. He urged the people of Barak Valley to embrace linguistic understanding and announced scheduled roadshows and constituency visits in the coming days.
