Alleged Molestation of young girl: Culprit absconding, Police arrests hotel owner.

Our young daughter was first intoxicated and then molested by a man identified as Nirmal Das in a hotel in Silchar. Such is the allegation of a family who went on to file an FIR at Rangirkhari Police Station.

As per the family members, Das, resident of Chatla area convinced the young woman to meet him in Silchar. The young woman left her house with her elder sister and reached Silchar as planned. After a while she left her sister and went on to meet Das. As per the allegation Das met the young woman in a rented room in Sharat Hotel Silchar. On the other hand her elder sister started panicking as she was unable to locate her sibling nor she was able to reach her over phone. Few hours later, as per the FIR, Das called the panicking sister and informed her that her sister was lying unconscious in Sharat Hotel and she should immediately reach the room. When she reached there she found her sister is lying unconsciously and half naked

The officer in-charge of Rangirkhari Police outpost Utpal Chanda said that they have arrested the owner of Sharat Hotel and is investigating the matter. He said, “Both the sisters knew about the boy as they used to chat on phone regularly. The accused is absconding and we are searching for him. The hotel does not have any register nor does it keep any record of its customers and that is why these things happen.”

The girl in her statement said that she came to meet Das on Sunday and when they entered the hotel he offered her “Cold Drink type something” to drink. Few sips of the liquid is all she could recall. “We will only get to know if she was molested or sexually abused after getting the medical report,” said Chanda.

According to people in the locality this hotel is renowned for giving rooms on rent to young boys and girls on an hourly basis. They alleged that, immature girls of young age often accompanied by boys enter into this hotel. Apart from all this, the hotel, according to locale, happen to be the heaven for addicts as they can take a room on rent and dope in a group, “We have got other complaints about this hotel and we are investigating the matter,” concludes Chanda
