This year Hospital Road Durga Puja committee is set to woo the visitors by mounting a 75-feet-tall adaptation of Myanmar’s Buddha Temple. Inside the mandap, there will be a 20-feet-tall idol of goddess Durga. The committee’s spokesperson informed that the idol will be made of coconut and its ingredients. Whereas the Pandal will be made of cloth, paper and plywood. The committee announced that this year they have prohibited the usage of thermocol, plastic and other non-biodegradable items.

The pandal will be decorated by famous artisians from Kolkata, Chandan Majhi and Narayan Ghosh. Kolkata’s Uttam Jana is in charge of the idol decoration. The committee is expecting a huge turnout this year and so it will focus on security too.
