Naba Kumar Doley addresses review meet on rural development programmes in Cachar
Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of Assam, Naba Kumar Doley interacted with officials of his department in Cachar district during a review meeting of rural development programmes under the Zila Parishad held at the Banga Bhawan on Monday.
Doley said “Amidst the COVID-19, as per the instructions of the Centre and the State Government, steps have been taken to provide job cards to the migrant labourers coming back to the state and willing to work. The Department, under the MGNREGA, is working towards this objective with priority and also facilitating wages within 15 days of the job assignments. Also, a close watch is being kept on the implementation and accomplishment of the schemes like PMAY etc. across the districts maintaining social distancing and following other health-related guidelines for COVID-19.”
The Minister said he hopes that the meeting will bring forth the lacunas that lie in the proper execution of the schemes beneficial for the people. Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar, Minister of Forest, Fisheries and Excise Parimal Suklabaidya, Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, MLAs Dilip Kumar Paul, Kishore Nath, Mihir Kanti Shome, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli, IAS, CEO Zila Parishad Deepshika Dey, president Zila Parishad Amitabh Rai and other officials attended the meeting.
