Negligence in Hailakandi Civil Hospital; 7-year-old dies due to lack of oxygen
Huge public outrage after a seven year old boy lost his life at Hailakandi S K Roy Civil Hospital. Najmul Hussain, son of Nizam Uddin, resident of Chandipur area was admitted in the hospital today morning. He was suffering from high fever and the doctor after initial diagnosis ordered the nurses to put him under ventilation.
The eyewitnesses and family members allege that despite doctor’s order no ventilation was provided to the suffering seven year old. They family attendants went to the nurse asking for oxygen masks, but they allege the nurses shooed them away inappropriately. After a while the family members noticed unusual behavior as the kid stopped moving and that’s when they panicked. Soon after, the seven year old Najmul was declared dead by the doctors.
His death irked many, locals, relatives went to the hospital super Sudip Chakraborty and kept him hostage. Aware about the volatile situation, District Magistrate rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. He ordered Chakraborty to immediately look into the matter and take necessary actions.
Whatever actions anyone may take now, little Nazmul’s will never return back to his family and friends.
