”Never thought Congress and Independent candidate will stoop so low,” Dipayan Chakraborty; “Win is certain” says after casting vote
Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Dipayan Chakraborty has cast his vote at Shyamacharan Vidyapith School in Tarapur. “My only worry is the weather,” he said after casting his vote.
Chakraborty met the press outside the polling station and said, “Win is certain.” With smiles all over and family around him, he posed a victory sign for the camera. “I just hope that God blesses us with a good weather and people get to cast their vote in large number,” he asserted.
“People have faith in BJP. The electors know that the party will work for them and for the larger development of the society. There is no doubt that the lotus will bloom again,” Chakraborty added.
Last night, Congress alleged that the BJP workers are attempting to misguide voters by sticking misleading posters in various parts of the city. The posters had Rahul Gandhi and Tamal Kanti Banik joining their hands before Badaruddin Ajmal.
When asked about the allegations, Dipayan Chakraborty said, “I never thought that the Congress and one independent candidate can stoop so low. It was plotted by them, exposed by them and then it was them who were crying foul. BJP would never do something as disgraceful as sticking posters on behalf of the opposition. People of Silchar are smart and they know the truth behind the drama.”
According to the Election Commission of India’s Voter Turnout trends, 9.90% electors have turned up to cast till 11:00 am which is below the expected trends.
