
Newborn baby tests COVID Positive in SMCH; 111 in Cachar on Friday
A newborn baby has tested positive for COVID19 in Cachar district on Friday. Just six days old, the baby’s mother had tested positive for the infection before her delivery. The officials in Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that the baby was tested after birth, and today reports showed that the baby was carrying the infection.
Apart from the baby, 110 others have tested positive in the district in the five slots released till 9:30 PM. The district health department informed that four officials from the SP office in Silchar have tested positive. There were a couple of security guards also among the list of positive patients. Both were deployed in Goldighi Mall. A doctor from Fulbaari Cachar, Samsul Islam (64) has tested positive for COVID19.
There were a few officials from the Laboc Assam Rifles, Pailapool who tested positive on July 24. Ravi Kumar (37), Sanjeev Roy (43), RB Gurun (52), HR Lumshang (38), Ramesh (42), JL Sanga (28), Gautan Kamhua (40), Sharwan Kumar (42) were in the list we have managed to access.
Katirail’s Joya Deb (46), Juma Nath (38), Samar Nath (50), Tamajit Mitra (24), Subodeep Deb (5) have also tested positive.
There were a few air passengers too in the list. Traveled from Hyderabad, Meherpur Birbal Bazar’s Anis Fatima (36), Mohammad Mustafa (16), Joypur’s Minara Begum (25) have tested positive.
Most of the individuals who tested positive today had given their swab samples on July 21, 2020. The district health department informed that the symptomatic patients are being transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The rest will be treated at Chibitabicha Model Hospital, Model Degree College Borkhola and Rongpur Foreigners Tribunal.
