Newly built Bhasa Shahid Memorial of Kristi Vivek Sangskritik Sangstha to be inaugurated on Bhasa Shahid Dibas

11 young lives were lost on May 19, 1961 in the language movement to protect the dignity of their mother tongue Bengali. Their self-sacrifice temporarily stopped the efforts of Assamese imposition but the conspiracy hatched by the radical Assamese nationalists did not stop due to which more blood was shed in Barak Valley.

In humble respect to the immortal martyrs of Bengali Language Movement, the newly constructed Shahid Memorial will be unveiled infront of the own club house of Kristi Vivek Sangskritik Sangstha on May 19, 2023.

Eminent educationist Dr. Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, eminent writer and President of Borak Upottoka Bongo Sahityo O Songskriti Sommelon Sanjeev Deb Laskar, Journalist Taimur Raja Choudhury and Atin Das, folk researcher Prof. Dr. Amalendu Bhattacharjee and others have agreed to attend the event.

Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy and MLA Dipayan Chakraborty have also been invited to attend the event.

It is to be noted that Kristi Vivek Sangskritik Sangstha has been carrying out various activities in the cultural, social and sports world since 1982. The General Secretary of Kristi Vivek Sangskritik Sangstha Biswajit Dutta has cordially invited everyone to attend the inauguration of new Bhasa Shahid Memorial.
