No mask, not maintaining social distancing, spitting in public: Officials collected fine worth Rs 37,500 from Silchar

As per the district magistrate’s directive, an extensive drive was conducted by the administration to book those who are not following the District Disaster Management Authority’s guidelines on the usage of masks, maintaining social distance, avoid spitting in public places in Silchar city and its adjoining areas.

Abhilash Baranwal IAS, Bivor Agarwal IAS, Devajyati Gogoi and Maria Tanim, Assistant Commissioners of Cachar district were assigned to be in charge of the drive.

It is informed that Assistant Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal conducted the drive at Nahata point and Fatak Bazar areas in Silchar and collected a fine of approximately Rs 12,000.

Assistant Commissioner Bivor Agarwal visited the Tarapur police outpost, nearby market area, and railway station campus and collected a fine of about Rs 8,500 rupees, similarly, Rs 6,500 was collected from Ringirkhari area by Assistant Commissioner Maria Tanim and Debajyati Gogoi collected Rs 10,500 from Silchar Sadarghat area.

It is learnt that the officials collected a total fine of over Rs. 37,500 Silchar and its adjoining areas from those who did not follow the protocols.
