No More Latecomers: Cachar's New DC Rolls Out Tough Measures for Punctuality

Mridul Yadav, the newly appointed District Commissioner (DC) of Cachar, has taken a firm stance on office discipline right from his first day in office. The DC issued a detailed order aimed at ensuring punctuality and discipline among the employees of the district office. This move comes after observing irregular attendance and a lack of discipline among staff members, which has reportedly disrupted the smooth functioning of the office.

The order specifies that all employees must be present in the office by 9:45 a.m. on all working days and are not allowed to leave before 5:00 p.m. without proper permission from their respective Branch Officers. This directive is part of a series of measures to maintain official decorum and prevent any disruption in administrative work. Non-compliance with these instructions will be met with serious consequences, including pay cuts and deduction of Casual Leave.

To ensure strict adherence to the new rules, the DC has mandated that the Revenue Sheristadar (i/c) of the D.C.’s Office, Cachar, submit the monthly Biometric Attendance Record to Smt. Junali Devi, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Cachar, on the last day of every month. This record will be scrutinised carefully for any discrepancies in attendance.

Smt. Junali Devi, ACS, will verify the attendance and report any irregularities to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Personnel, Cachar. The ADC has been authorised to take follow-up actions such as issuing show cause notices, making adverse entries in the Annual Confidential Report (ACR), and initiating disciplinary proceedings as required. These steps are aimed at maintaining the highest standards of work ethic and accountability.

Furthermore, the Assistant Commissioner will conduct random inspections of various line departments to ensure that the punctuality and discipline directives are being followed. This proactive approach is expected to instil a sense of responsibility among the employees and discourage any non-compliance.

The order also specifies that employees need to apply for Casual Leave in advance, except in exceptional circumstances. This measure is intended to prevent any sudden absences that could hamper the functioning of the office. Mridul Yadav’s swift and decisive actions signal his commitment to a disciplined and efficient administration.
