
Oct 1 COVID Update: 61 positive in Cachar, 39 in Hailakandi, Karimganj 13; no death in SMCH
On Thursday, 61 individuals tested positive for COVID 19 in Cachar district. 50 of them were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test kit while the remaining 11 tested positive on RT-PCR.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that 17 patients took admission to various COVID wards in SMCH while 13 were discharged on Oct 1. Currently, there are 103 active patients in the hospital that treats symptomatic and critical patients.
“16 patients are in the ICU, three have been put under ventilation. 20 patients are in critical condition while 30 are in oxygen support,” informed Dr. Gupta.
In the last 24 hours, there was no death in the Silchar Medical College and Hospital’s COVID wards.
In Karimganj district, 1218 samples were tested on Thursday and 13 were found infected by the virus. The health department of the district informed that 13 patients were discharged from various COVID centres after they have recovered.
39 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi district on Thursday, taking the district’s total tally to 3,130.
Health authorities in Hailakandi disclosed that of the 39 positive cases, 20 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 1,755 swab samples were taken on Thursday.
