October 11 COVID Update: No death in SMCH, 3 positive in Hailakandi and Karimganj, 39 in Cachar

Cachar administration informed that 39 individuals of the district tested positive for Covid on Sunday. 37 individuals tested positive under RAT while 2 tested positive under RT-PCR.

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that in the last 24 hours, 6 patients took admission to the COVID wards in the hospital while 13 got discharged. The total number of active patients in SMCH stands at 101 out of which 19 are in the ICU, 3 are on ventilator, 19 are in a critical condition and 5 are on oxygen support.

He added that there was no covid related death in SMCH in the last 24 hours.

Hailakandi and Karimganj reported the lowest covid cases among the three districts in the valley today with both having a share of 3 each. All the three individuals tested positive under RT PCR in Karimganj while 2 were tested covid positive under RT-PCR and one under RAT in Hailakandi.

With this the total covid tally of Hailakandi reached 3,201. Health authorities disclosed that a total of 126 swab samples were collected on Sunday of which 14 were under RT-PCR and 112 under RAT in Hailakandi. It maybe mentioned that this comes after a day without any reported covid case in the district for the first time after the advent of the pandemic.

31 individuals of Karimganj were discharged on Sunday. A total of 218 swabs were collected in the bordering district all of which were under RAT.
