Officer of State Bank of India in Silchar tests positive for COVID 19
After Axis Bank and Bandhan Bank, an officer from the State Bank Of India tests positive for COVID19 in Cachar. As per available information, Hindi Officer Sanjeet Kumar who sits out of the Zonal Office in Ukilpatty has tested positive for the infection. Kumar was not feeling well for the last couple of days and yesterday when he went to see a doctor, he was prescribed a COVID test.
“After conducting a rapid antigen test, the doctors said that he is positive for COVID19,” informed a senior officer in SBI’s Zonal Office. The officer added, “He was on branch-visits and that is why he did not come to the office in the last few days.”
Another officer explained that, as Sanjeet Kumar was Hindi Officer at the Zonal Office, his job did not mandate direct interaction with the customer. “The customers need not panic. The Hindi officer does not sit in counters nor he deals with transactions. He only interacts with the bankers and other officers,” added the banker.
The officer in the Zonal Office informed that the bank administration has informed the district disaster management authority and requested them to facilitate sanitisation. “As a precautionary measure, we have decided to keep the floor where Sanjeev used to sit shut for at least three days. We have also contacted the vendors to sanitise the floor. Along with that, we will get other employees in the office tested for the infection,” said the officer in Zonal Office.
