Overspeeding Jagannath Travels Bus Kills Udharbond Local in Tragic Accident

A tragic road accident claimed the life of Moin Uddin, a resident of Udharbond’s Salganga area, on his way back from Silchar on Monday afternoon.

On December 9, Moin Uddin, who had gone to Silchar for wedding preparations for his daughter’s upcoming nuptials, was travelling on a scooty with his brother-in-law. While they were riding on their scooty, a night super bus hit them from the rear and both of them sprang off the two-wheeler.

The incident occurred near Rongpur, close to Narasingha Akhra, when their two-wheeler was reportedly hit from behind by an over-speeding Jagannath Night Super bus.

According to eyewitnesses, Moin Uddin, seated as a pillion, fell off the scooty due to the impact and came under the wheels of the bus, leading to his death on the spot. The bus fled the scene but was intercepted by the Banskandi Police in Banskandi shortly after the accident.

Cachar Police promptly arrived at the scene and transported Moin Uddin’s body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for a post-mortem examination.

The victim’s mother and daughter, who were travelling in a separate auto-rickshaw, were spared the accident. The tragic event has cast a pall of gloom over Udharbond’s Salganga, where the family was preparing for a joyous occasion.
