Parimal Suklabaidya to remain Forest, Excise and Fishery minister in Himanta Biswa Sarma's cabinet

The new cabinet ministry of Assam under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati. The 13 cabinet ministers of Assam were sworn in under the administration of Governor Jagdish Mukhi. Today, all the 13 cabinet ministers were assigned their respective departments along with the ones that the CM would inherit.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma retained the Home, Personnel, PWD, and any other department not allotted to any other Minister in his cabinet. Dholai MLA Parimal Suklabaidya, who happens to be the only representative from the Barak Valley in the cabinet ministry, is given the responsibilities of the departments Environment & Forests, Fisheries and Excise.

It is worth noting that during former CM Sarbananda Sonowal’s tenure, Parimal Suklabaidya was initially allotted the ministry of PWD, which later due to reshuffling was given to Himanta Biswa Sarma. Despite being re-elected once again, the Dholai MLA was not rewarded with any new department(s) at all.
