Police recovers missing school boy's dead body from Panchayat Road

16-year-old class IX student Debraj Roy was missing since last Sunday. And now, he will never return back home. Police recovered his decomposed dead body on Tuesday from the bathroom of a hostel in Panchayat Road.

Radhamadhav Road resident Roy, is businessman Gopal Roy’s son. He left his home on Sunday evening to fix his mobile phone. He took Rs 300 to get the phone repaired, Rs 50 to play games and Rs 50 to eat his evening snacks. No one know what he did with the 400 rupees he had with him. As Roy got late, his father started calling him. The phone kept ringing but no one answered. Monday morning, the father lodged a missing diary in the local police station.

 

Today, a team led by DSP A J Barua went to Panchayat Road and recovered the body. Looking at the body the Police officials could not spot any clear evidence of an external injury or assault. Police have sent the body for post mortem, “Till the report comes out we won’t be able to figure out the cause of death. The moment we received the missing report we launched an extensive search operations,” SP Rakesh Roushan told our correspondent.

Locals feel there is a possibility of drug overdose. Many locals in the area mentioned about the frequent doping activities which used to happen in that locality. Many went on to say this area has emerged as a ‘Drugs er Akhra’ in last few years. “We cannot rule out drug abuse or overdose at this stage,” concluded Roushan.
