Prime Minister Modi, CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma to visit Silchar on Jan 4

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning a huge gathering in Silchar on January 4, 2019. Senior party officials have confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State President Ranjit Das and other senior BJP leaders will visit Silchar for the huge gathering.

“3 lakh people will attend the gathering”, estimates BJP’s district president Kaushik Rai. The party is yet to decide the location of the rally. “The Prime Minister and other senior leaders will meet patry-workers of both the Lok Sabha constituencies,” adds Rai.

“This will kick off our election campaign in the region,” asserts general secretary Cachar BJP Kanad Purkayastha.
