Private school teacher in Barak Valley beats student for wearing un-ironed uniform; doctors consulted, Police complaint filed
Shocking news coming in from Karimganj. A Class V student was allegedly beaten by his teacher for wearing non-ironed school uniform. The incident took place in Rowland School in Karimganj yesterday.
The student’s father Nirjhar Paul lodged a complaint in Karimganj Police station and requested the officials to take immediate action against the teacher. In his complaint Nirjhar Paul mentioned that his son went to school yesterday like any other day. “The moment he entered the class in the morning, Jhonny sir called him to his desk and asked him if he has ironed his uniform before coming to the class. My son replied that he did not and immediately Jhonny sir started beating him mercilessly,” Paul wrote in his complaint.
He further added that Jhonny Sir has hit his son on his face and head leaving him severely injured, “My son and his classmates told me that Jhonny sir has hit many punches on his head and face. I had to rush him to Karimganj Civil Hospital where the doctors treated him. He is still suffering from severe headache,” added Paul in his Police complaint.
Meanwhile, other guardians and several associations condemned the act. Physical punishment has been banned by the Supreme Court and in such scenario a teacher beating his student for not ironing his uniform is not acceptable said many on social media and other public forums.
